Kyle Sarasin began his racing career at the age of only 16 when he became the youngest driver in the history of the storied Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR), previously known as the Press On Regardless (POR), the longest running performance rally in North America. Sarasin continued to secure many Rally America records, including the youngest to achieve:
Rally America Rookie of the Year, 2007
Team Sarasin Motorsports is aggressively seeking support to contest the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) Academy series as well as the popular Global RallyCross Championship, including the 2012 X Games.
New in 2011, the FIA WRC Academy showcased young drivers with raw talent on a global stage. Built on the foundation of the FIA Junior World Rally Championship (WRC) which jumpstarted the careers of current WRC stars like Sébastien Loeb, the FIA WRC Academy will become the first step on the WRC ladder, giving the stars of tomorrow an unparalleled opportunity to take part in a fuller, more cost-effective programme than ever before. For 2012 this one-make series using the Ford Fiesta R2 and Pirelli tyres will take place over six rounds of the 2012 WRC. The FIA WRC Academy is the most accessible and affordable rallying series ever to be pioneered on a global scale, taking place over two days of the full World Rally Championship event – generally Friday and Saturday.
The Global RallyCross Championship, in its second season, expands to five dates in addition to the two days of competition at X Games Los Angeles 2012 for a total of seven rounds of competition throughout the United States. Each round will be televised live on ESPN or ESPN2 as well as ESPN 3D. Expanded coverage during X Games Los Angeles 2012 will feature even more of the heat race action. ESPN’s broadcasts of the NASCAR Nationwide Series are the anticipated lead-ins to four of the Global RallyCross telecasts, each ideally placed to broaden the audience among core motorsports viewers.
